Our Fabric

The fabric we choose must care for the child who wears it, and for the land and oceans they will inherit.

We use charcoal bamboo fleece bonded to strong, skin-safe polyester, a pairing that is standard in premium cloth nappies worldwide. The polyester gives strength, structure, and long life, allowing the nappy to be washed and worn hundreds of times without losing its shape or softness. The bamboo charcoal offers natural odour control, helps regulate temperature, and keeps your baby feeling dry. It is soft against the skin, breathable in all seasons, and strong enough to serve through years of use.

Our fabric carries the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, one of the world’s most trusted textile safety standards. This means it has been independently tested and certified free from harmful substances such as pesticides, heavy metals, and unsafe chemical residues. It is safe for direct contact with your baby’s skin, from the very first day of life.

When we chose our materials, we considered every option through the lens of what will work best for real families, every day. While “all natural” fibres can sound like the safer choice, in practice they can be slow to dry, need a larger rotation to keep up with washing, and tend to hold moisture against the skin, which can increase the risk of rashes. Our bamboo charcoal blend was chosen for its quick-dry performance, its ability to wick moisture away from the skin, and its durability over years of use.

The base is stable and inert, it does not break down or release micro-particles in normal use, and it allows the bamboo charcoal to retain its antibacterial, deodorising, and thermoregulating properties wash after wash. One nappy can replace thousands of disposables, reducing waste and conserving resources.

For us, being eco-conscious isn’t just about what a fabric is made from, but how it performs over time, how safe it is for the smallest among us, and how gently it treads on the earth long after its work is done. This is cloth without compromise - safe for your child, enduring in your home, and kind to the planet.
