Our Community Cloth Bank
Because of Ubuntu. I am because we are.
Cloth nappies are a sustainable, long-term solution, but for many families, the initial cost creates a barrier that feels impossible to cross. Our cloth bank exists to remove that barrier through community support and shared resources.
How It Works
When your baby outgrows their nappies, you’ll have the option to return your gently used cloth nappies. We will clean, restore, and prepare them so they can be gifted to another family starting their cloth journey.
This creates a continuous cycle of giving. Nothing goes to waste. Every nappy gets a second life. More families gain access to a healthier, more sustainable way to care for their babies.
It’s a simple, practical system with a profound impact, reducing financial strain, cutting waste, and building stronger communities.
Sponsor a Family
Not everyone has nappies to return, but everyone can play a part.
We’re creating a sponsor program where individuals and families can contribute towards a single nappy or a full starter kit for someone in need. Even R50 can help bridge the gap and ensure a baby has what they need.
It is collective care in action, families supporting families, directly and tangibly.
Building the Network
We’re actively connecting with NGOs and organizations that support orphaned babies, young mothers, and vulnerable families.
Our goal is to build a sustainable, transparent system where every donation and every returned nappy directly benefits those who need it most.
Your Ideas Matter
This project is still taking shape. If you’ve worked on similar initiatives or have ideas for making this stronger and more effective, we’d love to hear from you.
Together, we can create a living network of care, turning simple cloth nappies into tools for dignity, sustainability, and shared humanity.
